How will you celebrate Father's Day? I'm blessed with memories,,

Father's Day is just a couple days away,,,So, What's the Big Plan :) How will You make your Dad feel Celebrated and Special?

Hat's Off to the Great Dad's out there, whether it's your Dad, Grandpa or Poppa as my son's affectionately called my father. I will remember how my father sacrificed
everything for his 3 daughters. When I, the last of the three was born, there were no "cigars" passed out, Mom said he was hoping for a boy! Coming from a family of 4 boys my Dad was a guys guy :) A scratch golfer, his diving into the pool was with perfect form, we rode horses with him, tobogganed & skated in winter along side him. So! I was the boy he never had, I golfed with Dad, I fished with Dad and was his buddy growing up, that is,,, when he wasn't with a friend. He unselfishly played games in the yard outside with my two boys, usually helping teach them to throw and catch the ball, spent hours walking the neighborhood with my youngest son, some nights until dark. I had finally had the boys, my sisters had all girls :)

Poor Pops was so outnumbered in a house full of girls! He always said he would have to work until very old to pay all our bills! He was a Great Dad, great character and strength. Always provided well for his family and loved not outwardly but in an inward sort of way. We would catch the pride on his face with each of our accomplishments. I miss him tons,,,so as I tell my grown children, be good to your Dad even when he is angry with you he still loves you deeply and will go the xtra mile for you as did your Poppa. Dad was cut from special cloth,,,he asked not for material things, but the gift of togetherness, a barbeque, good food and talk. He was a man we called the "salt of the earth." He loved his family, his home grown vegetables and spending time enjoying just being together. This man was larger than life always and now that he is gone it somehow doesn't feel as though he is.

You'd be proud Dad,,,I feel fortunate for the pleasant memories. There are so many of us that do not have that story to tell. So here's to you Dad, hope your fishing for the big catch, hope your bogeying on the backside, hope your playing cards with your friends and being wonderful to our ♥Mom and your grandchildrens ♥Nana
Happy Father's Day,,,Love from your youngest daughter, DeeDee~
